Afterlife’s Delight was made for Hardcore worlds with friends. In vanilla, one creeper can leave a friend watching everyone else play. Here, they return as a ghost, and the group gets a chance to bring them back with food.
After pressing Respawn, the ghost appears near their body. Mobs ignore them, and they can no longer fight, break blocks, or pick up ordinary items. Returning to life requires a resurrection dish: a stew or apple pie prepared by a living cook-or one seasoned to follow your soul through death.
Burned in lava? You were apparently so hungry that your soul left your body.
If everyone becomes a ghost and no resurrection food survives with them, no one is left to prepare another dish. The world goes quiet until a new cook joins the server.
What the mod adds
- Four resurrection effects, each available as a stew or apple pie. They can revive you where you stand or return you to where you died.
- Seasonings determine whether a dish follows your soul through death.
- Apple pies can be placed, divided into four slices, and eaten one serving at a time.
- Pestles made from different materials grind echo shards, chorus fruit, and netherite scrap on the Cutting Board.
- A cold filter, fog, particles, ambience, a translucent body, and an echo trail shape the spirit world.
- Ghost state persists through relogs. Flight, sounds, and atmospheric effects are configurable.
Resurrection dishes fully restore health and hunger when they revive a ghost. Living players can eat stews and pie servings as ordinary food.
Compatibility
Works without keepInventory. Tested with Corpse, GraveStone Mod, Sophisticated Backpacks inside corpses and graves, Sable: Ragdoll Corpse, and Sable’s physical ragdolls.
