How it was made

Designed, directed and playtested by Chi_catt; the player skins (Partygoers, Skin-Stealers) are hand-drawn by the author. Most of the code, the placeholder textures and sounds, some textures (guns, carpet — ChatGPT) and this page's text were made with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) under the author's direction and review. The Level 0 wallpaper is CC0 ("Backrooms PBR texture pack" by methodical pixel, OpenGameArt).

What's inside

• 35+ levels as dimensions, each with its own generation, light, sounds and rules: Level 0, 1, 2, 188 "The Courtyard", the Hub, Levels 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11 "The Endless City", 18, 33, 37 "The Poolrooms", 39, 55, 94, 105, 122, 666, 974 "Kitty's House", 3999, the Fun level =), Level ! "Run For Your Life", and more. Halloween levels 9.31, 10.31, 1013 and 1031 show up at the end of October.
• Noclip: stumble on a "reality patch" in the overworld, build a place too empty to be real (Liminal Score), or use the Key of Reality. Between levels: rifts, doors, windows, hatches — the ways in and out the lore describes.
• Survival: sanity and hallucinations, almond water (grow almonds, pack bottles), food, heat, radiation, the Grave after death.
• Entities: Smilers, Skin-Stealers, Partygoers, the Faceless, Kitty, the Cleaner, the Black Spider, the Clump, Crawlers, Deathmoths, Mark and more. Wanderers and settlements (B.I.G., N.T.O.Z., Tom's diner, Austin's camp) trade for almond water.
• Guns: rifle, pistol (single or dual), pump shotgun with three shell types, M24 sniper rifle; bullets go through soft materials.

• Settings: config/backrooms.json. Commands: /backrooms (operators).
• Some level songs are not included (copyright) — those levels are quiet unless you add music with your own resource pack.
