BAfkIndicator

A simple, standalone AFK indicator plugin. No dependencies, no bloat — just reliable AFK detection with the features server admins actually need.

Features

• Auto AFK detection — triggers on inactivity: no movement, chat, commands, block breaking/placing, interaction, or hotbar switching
• Visual indicator — [AFK] tag shows both above the player's head and in the tab list
• Smart tab sorting — active players are automatically grouped above AFK players in the tab list
• Manual toggle — /afk lets players mark themselves AFK on demand
• Chat broadcasts — the server is notified when a player goes AFK or returns (toggleable)
• Sound effects — optional, configurable sound cues on AFK state change
• Optional auto-kick — kick players after a configurable AFK duration (off by default)
• AFK time tracking — total AFK time is tracked per player and saved across restarts
• Leaderboard — /afk top shows the top 10 most-AFK players on your server
• Player lookup — /afk status <player> shows anyone's current AFK status and AFK time
• Admin bypass control — exempt specific players from AFK detection via permission or a simple toggle command
• Fully configurable — every message, timer, and toggle lives in config.yml

Configuration highlights

• afk-timeout-seconds — how long until a player is marked AFK
• kick-timeout-seconds — optional auto-kick timer (0 = disabled)
• broadcast-enabled — toggle server-wide chat announcements
• play-sound + sound name/volume/pitch — optional audio cue
• bypassed-players — list of names always exempt, editable live
• stats-save-interval-seconds — how often AFK stats are flushed to disk

Compatibility

• Paper, Spigot, Purpur, Pufferfish, and other Bukkit-based servers
• Minecraft 1.16.5 through 1.21.x — compiled against the 1.16.5 API on purpose for maximum compatibility
