Here's the basics.

With a stick on the bottom and a single block or ore of your choice (current options are wood, stone, iron, and diamond-infused iron), you can make a Knife!

Knives don't let you cook, sadly.

What they actually do, is provide stronger damage then their sword counterpart, but have half the durability of their sword counterpart. Good for emergencies.
