Give your ExcellentCrates crates an opening worth watching.
CrateCinema plays a short in-world show when a player opens a crate: a meteor strikes the crate, a hand of cards is shuffled and flipped, a portal tear swallows the reward pool. You pick a show for a crate in the ExcellentCrates crate editor, next to the built-in animations. Keys, rewards and costs don't change, and ExcellentCrates still grants every reward.

Shows
- Starfall: a burning meteor streaks down and strikes the crate; the reward rises from the impact.
- Cards: five cards are shuffled; one steps forward, glows and flips over to show the reward.
- Orbit: rewards from the pool circle above the crate and narrow down to the winner.
- Rift: a portal tear swallows the pool and pushes the reward out towards the player.
- Simple: text, particles and sound only. Light, and visible to Bedrock players.
Features
- Rarity tiers. Rarer rewards build up longer, glow in their rarity colour and end with a bigger fanfare, so players can tell a legendary pull before the name appears.
- Private shows. Only the player opening the crate sees their show, so a crowd can open the same crate at once without overlapping. Showing it to nearby players is one setting.
- Nothing gets lost. If a player quits, teleports away, changes world or the server stops mid-show, the reward is granted immediately. After a death it is granted on respawn. Show entities are never saved, so nothing is left behind after a crash.
- Bedrock aware. With Floodgate, Bedrock players get a show their client can display.
Setup
- Install ExcellentCrates (7.2.0+) and nightcore, then CrateCinema, and restart.
- In the ExcellentCrates crate editor, set the crate's animation to a show, for example
cratecinema_starfall:default. - That's it. If you set it in the crate's file instead, run
/ecrates reload.
Try any show at any tier with /cratecinema preview <show> [tier]. Each show's settings (timings,
materials, colours) are ExcellentCrates animation profiles, so one show can have several variants.
There are also settings for audience, sound and particle volume, concurrency limits and Bedrock
players. Upgrading from 1.x is covered in the documentation.
