🎁 MCCases — CS2-Style Cases for Minecraft

[!IMPORTANT] A matching server resource pack is REQUIRED for the full experience!

Download the resource pack from the Latest Releases. Make sure you use the resource pack that matches your plugin version.

Without the resource pack, custom weapon textures, 3D weapon models, and first-person weapon visuals will not work as intended.

MCCases brings the Counter-Strike 2 case-opening experience to Minecraft. Open cases, collect weapon skins, inspect knives, trade with other players, and build your own skin collection — all on a regular Paper server.

No client-side mods required. Just the plugin and its matching resource pack.

✨ Features

  • CS2-Style Case Openings — Open cases with animated reels and rare rewards.
  • Weapon Skins — Collect hundreds of skins with individual floats, patterns, exteriors, and StatTrak values.
  • Knives & Gloves — Discover custom 3D weapon models inspired by Counter-Strike.
  • Natural Inspect Animations — Inspect weapons and knives with detailed animations.
  • Personal Skin Collection — Browse, equip, filter, sort, and favorite your skins.
  • Player Trading — Trade skins directly with other players using a secure confirmation system.
  • Emerald Marketplace — Buy and sell skins using in-game Emeralds.
  • Trade-Up Contracts — Exchange skins for higher-rarity rewards with visible odds.
  • Custom Resource Pack — Dedicated textures, weapon models, and first-person visuals.
  • Multiple Languages — English by default, with additional translations available.
  • Persistent Storage — SQLite, MySQL, and MariaDB support.
  • Admin Tools — Manage players, cases, skins, patterns, odds, and dealers.
  • Paper Optimized — Server-side functionality without requiring client modifications.

📦 Requirements

  • Minecraft Java Edition 26.3
  • PaperMC 26.3 (the tested target version)
  • Java 25
  • The matching MCCases resource pack

No additional plugins are required.

Important: Other Minecraft or Paper versions may require additional testing. Use a compatible server version for the intended experience.

🚀 Installation

  1. Download the latest plugin .jar from GitHub Releases.
  2. Download the matching MCCases-ResourcePack-<version>.zip from the same release.
  3. Place the plugin .jar into your server's plugins/ directory.
  4. Start the server. MCCases will generate its configuration files.
  5. Configure the resource pack and make it available to your players.
  6. Restart the server if required and verify that the plugin loads correctly.

Enable the resource pack

The plugin includes built-in resource pack distribution. You can configure it in plugins/MCCases/config.yml.

resource-pack:
  enabled: true
  namespace: mccases
  distribution:
    enabled: true
    bind-address: 0.0.0.0
    port: 8165
    public-url: "http://your-server-address:8165"
    required: false

Replace your-server-address with an address reachable by your players. Make sure the configured port is accessible through your firewall and hosting provider.

Alternatively, distribute the matching ZIP through your own Minecraft resource pack setup.

├── config.yml
├── shop.yml
├── market.yml
├── inspect.yml
├── inspect-profiles.yml
├── sounds.yml
├── messages_*.yml
├── catalog/
├── textures/
├── resourcepack/
├── data.db
└── secret.key
  • config.yml — Main settings, storage, displays, inspections, and resource pack options.
  • shop.yml — Dealer prices and shop settings.
  • market.yml — Marketplace limits and economy settings.
  • inspect.yml — Inspect animations, positions, and visual settings.
  • inspect-profiles.yml — Additional inspect animations.
  • sounds.yml — Sound effects.
  • messages_*.yml — Language files.
  • catalog/ — Cases, skins, weapons, rarities, keys, and patterns.
  • textures/ — Skin textures and weapon layers.
  • resourcepack/ — Resource pack files.
  • data.db — SQLite database when SQLite is enabled.
  • secret.key — Signing key for cases and keys.

Existing configuration files are preserved when the plugin starts. Back up your configuration and database before making major changes or updating the plugin.

🎨 Custom Content

MCCases supports custom cases, skins, patterns, and other catalog content.

You can extend the catalog, configure rarity tiers, define skin styles, and generate an updated resource pack.

After changing supported catalog content, reload the plugin and rebuild the resource pack when necessary:

/csadmin reload
/csadmin exportpack

Always distribute the newly generated pack to players when your changes affect textures or models.

💾 Storage & Reliability

MCCases supports:

  • SQLite for straightforward setups.
  • MySQL and MariaDB for external database storage.
  • Persistent player collections and opening history.
  • Transactional storage and recovery of interrupted openings.
  • Signed case and key items.
  • Persistent marketplace balances and pending payouts.

Backup recommendation: Back up your database, player data, configuration files, and secret.key together. Keep a copy of your matching resource pack as well.

🔄 Updating

  1. Stop your server.
  2. Back up plugins/MCCases/ and your world and player data.
  3. Download the new plugin .jar and its matching resource pack.
  4. Replace the old plugin and resource pack.
  5. Start the server and check /csadmin info.
  6. Verify that players receive the correct resource pack.

Always use a matching plugin and resource pack version. Mixing versions can cause missing textures, broken models, or incorrect visuals.

🧑‍💻 Development

MCCases is built with Gradle and Kotlin DSL build configuration.

To build from source, install JDK 25 and run:

./gradlew build

On Windows:

gradlew.bat build

The build produces the plugin JAR and resource pack distribution.
