DeathPoint records every place your players die with exact coordinates, dimension, death cause, dropped XP, and item count. Players can browse their past deaths in a chest menu, follow a live compass and directional HUD back to their gear, share coordinates in chat, or teleport safely when allowed by server rules.
Rebuilt from the ground up for 2.0, DeathPoint runs natively on CraftBukkit, Spigot, Paper, Purpur, and Folia from 1.8.8 all the way to 26.3 with zero required dependencies.
Upgrading from 1.0.0? Drop the new JAR in
plugins/and restart. Your existingdata.ymlplayer history loads automatically.
Features
| Feature | |
|---|---|
Interactive Death Menu (/dp gui)Paginated chest interface showing dimension icons, coordinates, live 3D distance, saved XP/item snapshots, and an estimated 5-minute chunk-aware loot despawn timer. Use Left-Click to track, Right-Click to teleport, or Shift + Right-Click to delete an entry. |
|
Live Compass & ActionBar HUD (/dp compass)Points your compass directly at any recorded death, including Lodestone compass support in the Nether and End on 1.16+. Displays a real-time directional arrow ( ⬆ ↗ ➡) and block distance above the hotbar (plus an optional BossBar) and stops automatically once you arrive. |
|
| Private Particle Trail & Beacon Spawns an optional directional particle trail and vertical marker beam visible only to the tracking player, keeping survival worlds clutter-free for everyone else. Players can also be granted a soulbound Recovery Compass on respawn. |
|
Safe Teleport & Void Rescue (/dp tp)Scans a 3D radius around the death point before teleporting so players never land in lava, fire, magma, cactus, blocks, or mid-air. For Void deaths, DeathPoint can place a temporary glass block underneath the player's feet and restore it automatically afterward. |
|
| Tuned for Survival Servers Configure stand-still teleport warmups (cancelled on movement or damage), brief post-teleport invulnerability, PvP combat-tag restrictions, per-world blacklists, max teleports per death, and optional Vault, XP level, or item costs with automatic refunds if cancelled. |
|
| Storage, Placeholders & Multi-Language Choose between crash-safe atomic YAML or embedded WAL-mode SQLite. Ships with MiniMessage and legacy hex color support, built-in PlaceholderAPI variables, LuckPerms rank scaling, and English, French, and Spanish locales ( language: "auto" adapts to each client). |
