Dimensional Additions is a mod that adds some additional content to the non-Overworld dimensions, primarily featuring a Vanilla-like End Update which intends to mirror the Nether Update in scale while keeping the general vibe of The End intact. Check out the Gallery for the content currently implemented! This mod is currently released in Alpha as I'd like to get what I have out currently while I continue to work on future updates and maintain my other mods

Currently Implemented

  • Two new biomes found in The End, the Purgenta and Endurtica Forests
  • Two almost complete Woodsets for these trees, still need Boats, Chest Boats, Signs, Hanging Signs and Shelves (once I figure out how to do those... -v-;) but placeholder recipes do exist
  • Renames vanilla End Stone to Cobbled End Stone, gives it stairs, slabs and walls, and adds a new block to take the place of Cobbled End Stone called... End Stone lol
  • End Stone also has stairs, slabs, and walls, and drops its Cobbled variant when broken without Silk Touch which can be used in recipes that use Cobblestone
  • Adds an End Equivalent of Dirt/Netherrack called Astral Turf, and two variants of which that the forests grow from called Rose Turf and Verdant Turf which mirror Nylium in functionality
  • Adds foliage to the two biomes with interesting use cases. A spikey Roots block that damages entities like a Cactus but without the collision or item destroying properties, plants which either slow the player down like Webs or provide light, and a Berry that can be eaten for a Low Gravity effect, or brewed into longer lasting Potions of said effect
  • Adds Coal and Diamonds to the End, and Iron to the Nether in Basalt Deltas

Plans for the Future

  • Add at least two more End biomes to match 1.16's count. Current plans include some sort of rocky biome to mirror the Basalt Deltas, and a biome featuring large lakes and an eerily tranquil atmosphere for The Ends standards
  • An Expanded blockset for End Stone and Purpur, Calcite and a new Quartz-like ore in the form of Onyx, which mainly has decorative purposes
  • Find out how to smooth out biome edges a bit (the biomes in The End are determined per chunk, creating this square edge effect which is normally invisible with Vanillas biomes that are all similar)
  • Add some new structures, both enviromental or dungeon-esque
  • Implement a Strider rework in the form of a new mob called the Basaltrich, a large Ostrich like creature with thick clumps of Basalt protecting its back and feet. Instead of how the Strider functions, the Basaltrich would control like a Horse, slow fall like a Chicken, Walk on Lava (of course) and have it's back be able to be stood on like a Happy Ghast. A true mount for exploring the Nether!
  • Would also like to add another mob for traversing The End but have no concepts drafted yet
  • Whatever else I can think of that I find suits!

Recommended/(in)Compatable Mods

Mods I've found to be compatible (or not) so far from my own testing;

  • Nightosphere by Walls - [Highly Recommended] Makes changes to the Nethers level design that I personally can never play without
  • World Remoulded by me! - [Optional] Overworld overhaul, and changes other stone materials to drop a Cobbled variant that can be used in crafting
  • Cliff Face by boyonk - [Incompatible (currently)] - This is a mod I recommend with World Remoulded, but in the case of this mod, it causes Stone to generate in certain places in The End with Dimensional Additions installed. I think I know how to fix this, so this may change in the future
  • Chopt by ItsJustMeChris (or any other Tree Chopping mod really) - [Recommended] Helps with chopping down the new trees in the End Forests
  • Sensible Inventory Tweaks by me! - [Compatible] Along with many Loot Table/Recipe changes and other additions, what I want to highlight here is the rework to the Nether Fungi, where they have dedicated Mushroom Cap blocks that decay when their Stems are chopped down
  • Progression Reshuffled by me again lol - [Highly Recommended] Adds an End equivalent of Netherite, along with improving the games progression in general

Thank you for checking out my mod!

Dimensional Additions

One of two new wooded biomes in The End! Growing from Rose coloured turf, these strange trees have evolved to grow two crowns. Both of these biomes can house End Cities

Dimensional Additions

While it looks unassuming at first, careful footing is recommended here, as the Endurtica Trees extend some of their very, very spikey roots from beneath the ground. In addition, the tall Rose Shoots are covered in a sticky sap that slow prey

Dimensional Additions

Moving onto the calmer of the two forests, the Verdant foliage have no built in defense mechanisms, and the Blooming Shoots in particular create gorgeous speckles of light!

Dimensional Additions

The leaves of these trees seem to defy gravity, pointing upwards. The longer branches of which seem to be bearing a blue berry of some kind...

Dimensional Additions

Excluding the main End Island, large patches of Coal can be found underneath (you might rarely find some Diamonds in the rough!), along with smoother End Stone that hasn't been battered like the surface has

Dimensional Additions

Additionally, the Basalt Deltas can now generate with Iron Ore, making this treacherous biome slightly more worth traversing!

Dimensional Additions

Totally didn't forget to include the Nether Iron Ore in this screenshot lol

Dimensional Additions

Patches of Purpur and Pygmy Chorus not dot the surface! Occasionally you can find the hardy Sedum flower

Dimensional Additions

A new biome to mine Calcite (and Obsidian I suppose, if you have a lot of time on your hands lmao) in vast quanities

Dimensional Additions

The small End Island features globally have been made more common and can generate much higher, providing for some interesting platforming

Dimensional Additions

Obsidian also gathers in large amounts under the islands

Dimensional Additions

A very quiet biome where no mobs spawn, but filled with dangerously cold liquid Nitrogen and lovely Shale blocks that come in two colours

Dimensional Additions

Nitrogen has the properties of Powder Snow but in liquid form, and freezes much more quickly!

Dimensional Additions

The Nitrogen Lakes primary resource is Onyx Ore which can rarely be found in the other End Biomes. Onyx is the End's Quartz, providing a blockset with a moody dark purple colour

Dimensional Additions

An End City like structure with more basic loot

Dimensional Additions

An airborne structure that rewards large amounts of Onyx, Low Gravity Potions, Enchanted Books and spare Shale blocks!
