Dusty's Attic Cobblepaintings

Several Pokémon themed paintings, fifty and counting, done by my friends in our private Cobblemon instance! All human-made, and each with a pleasing wrapped edge.

Includes some shiny Pokemon paintings, with sizes ranging from 1x1 to 4x4.

Wrapped Paintings

First, if you have Cobblemon installed craft any Tier 1 Poké Ball surrounded with alternating sticks and string to get a Cobbleart Wrapped Painting.

Cobblemon is NOT required to run this mod! If you don't have it installed, you must use wool instead. Note that this recipe only works if you don't have Cobblemon installed.

So, why add a separate painting entity/item and not just use the vanilla one? It's in the name, these paintings wrap around so their edge shows up from the side! It just looks nicer.

One final thing, you can use the Stonecutter to pick your desired painting.

Customizing

Want your own custom painting collection with those wrapped edges, maybe without polluting the base game portrait pool? Can do, and it's all possible with just a datapack!

You can use the item component dustys-friends-cobbleart:variant_tag in any wrapped painting item to set its targets. So, as an example:

1. Define any new painting variants
2. Create a tag in [namespace]/tags/painting_variant/[name].json
3. And, finally, run this command for a Wrapped Painting that'll place only from that tag:

/give @s dustys-friends-cobbleart:wrapped_painting[dustys-friends-cobbleart:variant_tag="[namespace]:[name]"]

Just don't forget, if you did define any new paintings, to also include a resource-pack for them!

Feel free to use this mod on any spotlights, on your servers or modpacks, for as long as there's no monetization on access or modification of these. Or, in other words, feel free to keep ads on any videos, but don't make people pay for this mod in some way.

All image assets included on this mod are licensed under All Rights Reserved to their respective artists, limiting its usage as we detail below on Usage guidelines, and everything else (aka, code) follows the OQL v1.4 License.

Usage guidelines

This mod is free to use in modpacks, spotlights, and servers, so long as it is not behind a paywall for profit. Server operation cost payment is fine, but not charging for modpacks or in-game store deals for real money. It is fine to include in modpacks intended for videos, SMP Let's Plays, and streaming.
