Presenting...

This mod allows players to create 41 different styles of tie-dyed blocks, by equipping a medium or small rubber band and right-clicking on Wool or Terracotta to tie/wrap the block before dyeing it in a profession block, the Dyeing Station. Recipes are based on the number of Rubber Bands, the sized used (Small or Medium), and the Dyes added to the Dyeing Station. The Dyeing Station is the profession table by which Tie-Dyed blocks are created. Along with the Tie Block, 3 different colors of Dye are needed, and 1 bucket of water. Ove 300 hundred new decorative Blocks added (41 tie-dye styles X 8 blocks per style), plus 5 Dyeing Stations, 16 Tie-Dyes, and Recipes for everything! Now we're off to meet the whole group!

Meet and Greet!
Along the bottom row the visible blocks are: Door with colored glass, behind that is a Slab, on the left of the Slab is a Block, on top of the Block is a Fence, on top of the Slab is a Fence Gate, behind the Block and Slab are Stairs, on top of the stairs are Panes, behind the panes are the Trapdoor on the Left, and the Door with clear glass on the Right. (see the Gallery for 9 other Close-ups.)
Realism in Fantasy
In order to recreate the age-old craft of Tie-Dyeing, some liberties were taken with designs and results. I did try to bring some realism into the mix, like making Rubber Bands. Players must Smelt Logs to get Tree Sap, and mix that with either Blue or Red tie-dye to make the corresponding size. (see About the Tie-Dye for the other "real" aspect I drew upon)

Tie Blocks?
A Tie Block can have up to 20 Rubber Bands wrapped around it, either Medium or Small not mixed, on either Wool (white, a.k.a plain and boring), or Terracotta (regular, a.k.a also plain and boring). That makes 40 different recipes, 40 different Tie-Dyed blocks, 40 different Slabs, 40 different Doors, 40 different Stairs, and much more! But wait! If you act now, I'll throw in 1 more Tie-Dye block, plus Slabs, Doors, Stairs, Panes, Trapdoors, Buttons, Fences, Fence Gates for everything! But I'm not done! No, no! I added a second set of doors with colored panes (yes, they are transparent too)! So Crafter's Choice: Plain Glass Panes, or Fantastiliciously-wonderful colored panes. Hardly a choice, am I right, and only Slabs and Stairs have a Smooth Stone bottom face (under-side).
About the Tie-Dyes
All tie-dye designs were made by hand, photographed, and converted into digital artwork by me. The Tie-Dyes in-game are made from a variety of ingredients and not just regular ol' plant dyes either. Tie-Dye began ages ago using natural ingredients to create the various dyes used, so while Minecraft allows us to use some flowers and such, I went a step further and included other natural blocks, such as Dirt. Regular Dirt can be used to craft Brown dyes, whereas coarse Dirt can only craft Light Gray dye (blame the Gravel in it, not the Dirt!). Minecraft offers an abundance of materials that we collect and collect and collect, because it is too much effort to drag them all to a lava pit, so I put some of those materials to use making dyes and most of the recipes are probably fairly obvious now that you know natural blocks can be used. Tie-Dye components are not meant to be Rare or Uncommon, so many different objects can be used to make the various dyes, and Tie-Dyes themselves last for 128 uses each, and dyeing a whole stack of 64 blocks counts as one use, (as does dyeing a single block). This also means that the Tie-Dyes do not stack.
To get started, players will have to craft the components needed for the Beginner's Dyeing Station: 1 Cauldron, 1 set of Iron Bars, 1 Bucket of Water, plus there are also 4 "used" Dyeing Stations that are more customized with art, and those require 1 Dyeing Station (the plain kind) and various Tie-Dyes to craft. (Note: Minecraft Dyes do not work directly with this mod, but they can be used to craft tie-dyes.)

Requirements
Built and Tested on MC JAVA 1.21.1 and Neoforge 21.1.186
Converted and Tested on MC Java 26.1.2 and Neoforge 26.1.2.95
Converted to Fabric and tested on MC Java 26.1.2
This mod does not replace anything, adds a mountain of colorable potential and a new crafting profession, but it does require Neoforge/Fabric. Recipes are reasonably balanced. The whole YLA (Your Life Away) group can be installed side-by-side, and work in harmony: DYLA, SYLA, and PYLA. That should really expand decorative horizons!

FAQ
Q. Can I use your mod in my mod?
A. Yes! Please include a Credits.txt file for attribution.
Q. Why can't I use _____ to make tie-dye(s)?
A. The lists for each color are pretty extensive, but some things did not get added, usually because they are used for other recipes that are more rare to acquire. Most of the items are things that can be farmed, and Tie-Dyes last for 128 uses each, so you will not need to craft a bunch of them.
Q. That's all the Tie-Dye choices we have?
A. For now, yes. The number will definitely increase with future updates.

All Tie-Dyed blocks are organized by the name of the Tie-Dye, with each set of craftable blocks under subcategory.
All Tie-Dyes can be created by smelting natural blocks, but also Minecraft Dyes, candles, and more! Tie-Dyes are not meant to be Rare or Uncommon. The Furnace Recipe Book has all the Tie-Dyes under one category, Tie-Dyes.
The bottom row are the 4 custom Dyeing Station designs, and the top row are the Left and Right sides, green for left, red for right. Each will open the respective GUI that matches.
These are the 4 customized GUIs that match the corresponding custom Dyeing Stations. The "plain" Dyeing Station is for Beginners, but you'll be "trading" it in for a custom Dyeing Station in no time!
Stick to the recipes, folks! We can't have you all out there running around tie-dyeing just any blocks...yet. This process is way easier than real life, and a lot less time-consuming, trust me. 3 Tie-Dyes, up to 64 Tied Blocks, 1 bucket of water.
Natural Rubber comes from the Amazonian Rubber Tree, Hevea brasiliensis, as sap, which is then dried and processed with very few external additives. We're doing it in similar fashion, by Brewing Logs from any Tree, mixed with Potion of Swiftness.
IRL Tie-Dye is messy, and rubberbands are a terrible waste, but thankfully Minecraft makes it so used-up tools just disappear. Oh, btw each Rubberband has 16 uses, and each Tie-Block can have up to 19 Rubberbands.
If you're a fan of the YLA -series, and we know you are, you'll be tickled purple to know that SYLA, DYLA, and PYLA all work side-by-side....by-side! I'm not sure what decorative style this would be though, but feel free to go wild!
Tie-dyeing is a skill, but mostly it is about being creative. Some things are most complex than others though.
Everyone starts somewhere...this is where players start their Tie-Dye journey.
