EggEmAll Reloaded

Catch mobs. Preserve their data. Move them with ease.

EggEmAll Reloaded lets players capture mobs by throwing ordinary chicken eggs at them.

If a capture succeeds, the entity is converted into its corresponding spawn egg. Supported entity data is preserved so the mob can be spawned again later without losing important information.

This makes EggEmAll Reloaded especially useful for moving villagers, animals, and other mobs without complicated transport systems.

Features

  • Catch mobs using ordinary chicken eggs
  • Configurable capture chance
  • Configurable behavior when a capture fails
  • Preserve supported entity data using native server entity snapshots
  • Preserve villager professions, trades, experience, and other supported data
  • Entity blacklist
  • World blacklist or whitelist mode
  • Optional restrictions for baby, tamed, named, and sheared entities
  • Allow only player-thrown eggs or permit other egg sources
  • Permission categories for villagers, passive mobs, hostile mobs, and individual entity types
  • Dynamic GUI showing catchable and blacklisted entities
  • Customizable spawn egg lore
  • Configurable particle effects
  • Captured spawn eggs work from both the main hand and offhand
  • Optional PlaceholderAPI support
  • RoseStacker support, including capturing individual entities from stacks
  • UltimateStacker support
  • Compatibility support for legacy EggEmAll2 captured-egg data where possible

Compatibility

Primary target

  • Paper 26.2

Manually tested

  • Paper 26.2
  • Paper 1.21.7
  • Spigot 26.2
  • Spigot 1.21.7

The plugin itself is compiled to Java 17 bytecode. Your server still needs the Java version required by the Minecraft/Paper/Spigot version you are running.

PlaceholderAPI, RoseStacker, and UltimateStacker are optional.

Installation

  1. Download EggEmAll Reloaded.
  2. Place the JAR in your server's plugins directory.
  3. Start or restart the server.
  4. Configure EggEmAll Reloaded.
  5. Use /eggemall reload after changing the configuration or restart the server.

There are no mandatory external plugin dependencies.

Commands

Command Permission Description
/eggemall menu eggemall.command.gui Opens the catchable/blacklisted entity GUI
/eggemall reload eggemall.command.reload Reloads the configuration
/eggemall migrate eggemall.command.migrate Safely imports an existing EggEmAll2 configuration

Capture permissions

eggemall.all Allows all capture categories
eggemall.villagers Allows catching villager-type entities

PlaceholderAPI

PlaceholderAPI is optional.

EggEmAll Reloaded keeps the existing eggemall placeholder namespace for compatibility:

%eggemall_version%
%eggemall_catch_chance%
%eggemall_world_mode%
%eggemall_world_allowed%
%eggemall_require_permissions%
%eggemall_catchable_entities%
%eggemall_blacklisted_entities%

PlaceholderAPI placeholders from other expansions may also be used in supported EggEmAll Reloaded messages and spawn egg lore.

Built-in placeholders

{player}
{entity}
{entity_name}
{profession}
{world}

Upgrading from EggEmAll2

EggEmAll Reloaded keeps the existing /eggemall command namespace, eggemall.* permissions, PlaceholderAPI namespace, and legacy captured-egg compatibility where possible.

Because EggEmAll Reloaded has a new plugin name, it uses its own data directory:

plugins/EggEmAllReloaded

If an existing EggEmAll2 configuration is detected at:

plugins/EggEmAll2/settings.yml

the plugin will notify you during server startup.

Run:

/eggemall migrate

Permission:

eggemall.command.migrate

The migration will:

  • Create a backup of the current EggEmAll Reloaded settings.yml
  • Import your existing EggEmAll2 configuration
  • Reload the imported configuration immediately
  • Update the old default [EggEmAll] prefix to [EggEmAll Reloaded]
  • Keep custom prefixes unchanged
  • Leave the original plugins/EggEmAll2 directory untouched
  • Prevent accidental repeated migrations after a successful import

The original EggEmAll2 files are never deleted or modified.

It is still recommended to back up your server before upgrading.

Legacy captured eggs remain supported where their stored entity snapshot data can still be parsed by the current server version.
