Leather Auth Bridge

Overview

Leather Auth Bridge is a lightweight authentication plugin for Bukkit/Paper servers that enables seamless login for Leather Client players while maintaining full compatibility with vanilla authentication systems.

What It Does

The plugin provides two authentication paths:

• Leather Client users — Authenticate automatically on join using their Leather session token
• Vanilla players — Use traditional /register and /login commands

Both work independently without interfering with each other.

Why You Need It

If you want to support Leather Client on your server, this plugin unlocks the full experience. Without it, Leather Client players have to manually authenticate like everyone else. With it, they get a seamless join experience while vanilla players continue using normal auth commands.

Installation & Setup

1. Download leather-auth-bridge.jar
2. Drop it in /plugins folder
3. Restart server (config auto-generates)
4. Edit /plugins/LeatherAuth/config.yml and set a random secret
5. Run /leather reload

Requirements

• Server: Paper, Spigot, or Bukkit (1.19+)
• Java: 17 or higher
• Leather Client: v1.0.0+ (on player side)

Configuration

secret: CHANGE_THIS_TO_A_LONG_RANDOM_STRING
allow-vanilla: true
kick-message: "Authentication failed. Please use Leather Client or /login."
offline-mode: false

Change the secret to a long random string (32+ characters) — keep it secure.

Admin Commands

• /leather reload — Reload config without restart
• /leather status — View active sessions
• /leather revoke <player> — Revoke a player's session

Requires leather.admin permission.

Troubleshooting

• Players kicked on join? Secret mismatch between server config and client settings
• Plugin won't load? Ensure you're running Paper or Spigot
• Auto-login failing? Verify player is using Leather Client v1.0.0+
