MultiTerraForged (Unofficial)
MultiTerraForged is a comprehensive, fan-made revival and continuation of the legendary TerraForged world generation engine. This project merges, maintains, and recompiles development branches from ReTerraForged, NeoTerraForged and FreeTerraForged to deliver seamless compatibility with modern Minecraft releases across various environments.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS IS A ALPHA/BETA MOD; BUGS MAY (Or rather, definitely) OCCUR!!!
Instead of relying on vanilla's standard noise algorithms, the overworld is sculpted using realistic heightmaps. This approach generates authentic mountain ranges, sweeping river valleys, high plateaus, and organic coastlines rather than generic, bumpy terrain.
ℹ️ Essential Information
This project is an independent, community-driven fork distributed under the open-source MIT License. The original TerraForged framework was created by dags and Won-Ton. This updated edition builds directly upon the fantastic contributions of Equalizer32, racoonman2, and Fhxa3. Please do not contact the original developers for support or bug reports regarding this version.

🛠️ Total Control Over World Generation
Tailor your world before taking your first step. Access twelve pages of granular customization options directly within the world creation menu, complete with a fully interactive, zoomable, and pannable live preview. The mod includes several built-in configuration presets (featuring classic TerraForged setups) that you can freely duplicate, tweak, and export as custom datapacks.
The engine replaces generic smoothing with advanced erosion simulation, carving natural gullies into ridge lines. Rivers form interconnected, functional networks feeding into lakes and marshlands, complemented by a dedicated archipelago generation system with its own configuration suite.
📦 Modpack Integration
MultiTerraForged establishes the foundational terrain layout, allowing external biomes and structures to overlay smoothly on top of it.
- Biome Enhancements: Fully compatible with any mods utilizing TerraBlender (such as Biomes O' Plenty, Regions Unexplored, etc.).
- Structure Additions: Designed to integrate flawlessly with almost all major structure-adding modifications.
⚠️ Optimization & Troubleshooting
- Terralith Tweak: To avoid blocky or unnatural square ridges when running alongside Terralith, utilize its datapack format and remove the following file:
data/minecraft/worldgen/density_function/overworld/sloped_cheese.json. - Performance Enhancements: If you experience slow loading times during initial world creation, note that terrain sampling can be resource-intensive. For a smooth gameplay experience on newer versions, pairing this mod with performance utilities like Sodium, Chunky, Lithium, or Noisium is strongly recommended.
📄 Licensing & Distribution Rights
- Project License: MIT License (The official LICENSE document is embedded within every compiled .jar archive).
- Modpack Usage: You are fully permitted and encouraged to include this mod in any public or private modpacks free of charge.
- Installation: This is a server-side world generation mod. It must be installed on the dedicated server or present during singleplayer world initialization to function.
Those cliffs are impressive, aren't they? (biomes from the Regions Unexplored mod)
It's really great that water can now exist at levels other than just y=62!
Compatible with Alex's Mobs and other mob mods!
Glaciers as massive as those in Greenland, and the mountain—I don't think I have a word to describe it.
As you can see, mountains don't have to be made of ordinary stone
You can even export it as a datapack!!!
Finally, a river flows into a river! Enough with the vanilla rivers! (biomes from the Regions Unexplored)
As you can see, there are all sorts of sliders here (ranging from continent size and erosion intensity to the frequency of beaches and rivers), as well as two maps that can be zoomed in on, and so forth.
As soon as you change anything using the sliders—for example, the scale of the continents—both maps instantly adjust to those settings!
