NexusMechanics
NexusMechanics is a configurable mechanics and gameplay management plugin for Minecraft servers running Paper 1.21.11. It gives server administrators control over combat damage, enchantment levels, crafting recipes, mob drops, smithing upgrades, and selected item abilities.
The plugin is designed for servers that need more control over vanilla Minecraft mechanics without having to install a separate plugin for every individual restriction.
Features
TNT Minecart Damage Limiter
Control how much damage TNT minecarts can deal to players.
- Set a maximum damage percentage based on the player's maximum health.
- Configure the percentage in the plugin configuration.
- Enable or disable the mechanic independently.
- Prevent TNT minecart explosions from dealing more damage than the configured limit allows.
This feature is useful for Lifesteal, PvP, and competitive survival servers where TNT minecarts should not deal excessive damage.
Enchantment Level Restrictions
Set maximum levels for individual enchantments.
- Configure a separate maximum level for each enchantment.
- Support registered enchantments, including enchantments provided by other plugins when registered through Minecraft's enchantment registry.
- Set limits using administrator commands.
- Remove individual enchantment restrictions whenever necessary.
- Receive tab-completion suggestions for available enchantments when setting limits.
- Receive suggestions for currently limited enchantments when removing restrictions.
- Enable or disable the entire enchantment restriction system.
The plugin also checks player inventories and dropped items periodically, correcting enchantment levels that exceed configured limits.
Smithing Upgrade Restrictions
Control which equipment upgrades players can perform using a smithing table.
- Block specific equipment upgrades.
- Configure blocked upgrade combinations in the configuration file.
- Prevent restricted upgrades from producing a result.
- Enable or disable smithing restrictions independently.
For example, administrators can block the diamond-to-netherite helmet upgrade while leaving other smithing recipes available.
Mob Drop Management GUI
Manage mob drops through an in-game graphical interface.
- Open a drop-management menu for a selected mob.
- Configure chances for supported vanilla drops.
- Add custom drop entries.
- Configure the chances of custom drops.
- Remove custom drop entries.
- Remove individual vanilla drop chance rules.
- Save settings to the plugin configuration.
- Manage different mob types separately.
This allows administrators to customize loot progression, reduce the availability of powerful items, and create server-specific drop systems.
Important: Vanilla drop chance adjustments apply to items already generated by Minecraft's normal loot process. They do not independently create a vanilla drop when Minecraft did not generate it.
Recipe Restrictions
Control which vanilla crafting recipes are available to players.
- Block all vanilla recipes handled by the plugin's recipe restriction system.
- Block recipes based on their output item.
- Remove restrictions from individual output items.
- View the current recipe restriction settings.
- Enable or disable recipe restrictions independently.
For example, administrators can block recipes that produce Totems of Undying or prevent specific items from being crafted on a server.
Elytra Flight Restriction
Disable Elytra flight when the feature is enabled.
- Prevent players from starting Elytra gliding.
- Enable or disable the restriction independently.
This can be useful for PvP arenas, challenge servers, or worlds where aerial movement should be restricted.
Trident Riptide Restriction
Disable the Riptide ability of enchanted tridents.
- Prevent the use of Riptide when the restriction is enabled.
- Leave other plugin mechanics configurable separately.
- Enable or disable the restriction independently.
Independent Feature Toggles
NexusMechanics allows administrators to enable or disable supported mechanics separately instead of switching the entire plugin off.
Supported toggles include:
- TNT minecart damage limiting
- Enchantment level restrictions
- Smithing restrictions
- Mob drop management
- Recipe restrictions
- Mace smash damage limiting
- Elytra flight restriction
- Trident Riptide restriction
Configuration and Administration
The plugin stores its settings in config.yml, allowing administrators to customize supported mechanics and preserve their settings across server restarts.
Administrative commands can be used to manage feature toggles, enchantment limits, recipe restrictions, and drop settings. The plugin also includes a configuration reload command.
