Sigil

Sigil lets server owners create custom items, materials, abilities, and recipes with YAML. No Java code is needed for standard items or built-in abilities.

Features

  • Custom namespaced items with configurable names, lore, rarity, models, enchantments, and uses
  • Built-in abilities for projectiles, launching, potion effects, healing, area breaking, smiting, and worn effects
  • Click, combat, equipment, projectile, block, and timed ability triggers
  • Shaped, shapeless, cooking, smithing, and stonecutting recipes
  • Custom items as recipe ingredients, matched by item identity instead of appearance
  • Custom items in vanilla and Terra structure loot
  • Per-player, per-item, or global cooldowns
  • In-game item browser and recipe viewer
  • Existing items update after a reload while keeping their remaining uses and player-set names
  • API support for custom items and ability types

Sigil works out of the box with no required dependencies or separate framework plugin.

Compatibility

  • Minecraft 1.18 through 26.x
  • Spigot, Paper, Purpur, Pufferfish, and Folia
  • Java 17 or newer

Some newer item and recipe features depend on the Minecraft version. Sigil uses the best available option for the server and reports unavailable features at startup.
