Modular, expandable, JSON-driven, Diablo-inspired socketing for Minecraft 1.12.2

Socketed

Socketed lets weapons, tools, and armor gain sockets, and lets players slot gems and other items into them for stat boosts and various effects.
Combining multiple gems or items in one item can combine into new unique stronger effects through the combination system.
Nearly everything is JSON-driven, so modpack makers can define their own gems and combinations without writing code.

Default Content

Socketed is the core framework: sockets, socketing bench, effect system, loot functions, and ingame editor.
SocketedStandardExpansion is required for default content including many added effects, and a package of premade gem effects and combinations.
To get the default gems, combinations, effects, conditions, and activators, install SocketedStandardExpansion alongside Socketed.
Socketed is designed to allow for addon mods to be easily made to add their own features to Socketed.

Features

Sockets:

  • Socketable gear can hold up to 8 sockets by default (Configurable)
  • Sockets can be generic (Universal) or tiered (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic.) Higher tier sockets can slot more powerful gems.
  • By default gear can randomly spawn with sockets from villager trades, dungeon/structure loot, and mob drops. Chances scale with enchantability and can be defined per item.
  • If made obtainable by pack devs, socket items can be used to manually add new sockets onto existing gear.
  • Items that can receive sockets is definable through the config.

Gems:

  • Gems can be slotted into sockets at the Socketing Bench.
  • Gems can be removed and added by default, with config options to make removal destroy gems or disable removal entirely.
  • Each gem type can be defined to have their own trigger and effects.
  • Effects can be tied to specific slots, so the same gem can do different things based on which type of gear it is slotted on.

Effects:

  • Attribute modifier effects include random rolled stat modifiers for any attribute, including new attributes added by Socketed for durability, xp, and trade cost.
  • Activated effects are built from activators such as passive, attacked, and on kill, conditions such as random chance, weather, and health, and targets such as self or aoe around self.
  • Effects can cancel forge events or run several effects at once.

Combinations:

  • A set of specific gems slotted together can unlock a combination with its own name and effects.
  • Combinations can require a strict order or socket count such as creating combinations using custom rune items.
  • Combinations can replace the effects of the gems they are created from, or give additional effects on top of the base gems.

In-game Editor:

  • Run /socketed editor to open a GUI for creating and editing gem types and combinations without manually editing the JSON files.
  • If you are making or editing your own gems and combinations, make sure to disable Only Use Default Effects in the config.

**Compatibility ** By default Socketed has compatibility with First Aid and RLCombat.
Socketed API is designed to allow for addons to add their own compatibility for other mods such as adding sockets to Baubles.

**Documentation ** Setup, JSON format, effects, activators, conditions, targets, combinations, config options, and API usage are covered on the Socketed Wiki

**Requirements **

  • FermiumBooter
  • SocketedStandardExpansion (For default content)
