Turrets that fire guns from TACZ. Give a turret a TACZ gun and some ammo, and it will fire at enemies.
Dependencies
Controls
- Place it by right-clicking a block. Use the bottom of a block to hang the turret upside down from the ceiling, or the side of a block to mount it on a wall.
- Open it by right-clicking the turret. Put a gun in the gun slot, ammo in the slots below it, and a TACZ laser sight next to the gun slot.
- Pick it up by crouching and right-clicking. You get the turret back with its gun, laser and ammo.
- Paint it by crouching and right-clicking with a dye or a banner. A dye recolors the turret's panels, and a banner puts its design on each panel. The paint stays on the turret when you pick it up. Crouch and right-click with an axe to scrape it off.
- Camo it the same way with a camo from the Camos tab of the Turret Workbench. A camo covers the whole turret except its status light. Scraping it off with an axe removes it.
- Repair it by right-clicking with iron bars.
A turret standing on a chest, barrel or any other item storage takes matching ammo from it when it runs out.
GUI
- Power: Always On, Redstone On, Redstone Off or Always Off.
- Mode: Aggressive fires as fast as the gun allows. Conservative spaces its shots out to save ammo. Adaptive saves ammo at range and switches to Aggressive when a target gets close.
- Players: Never Target, Retaliate (only players who hurt it) or Always Target. Allies are never targeted.
- Allies: click an online player in the list to make them an ally of the owner, and click again to remove them.
The status light shows what the turret is doing:
| Light | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green | Ready |
| Yellow | Reloading |
| Bright red | Out of ammo |
| Dark red | No gun |
| Gray | Switched off |
Allies
Turrets do not target their owner or the owner's allies. Allies come from:
- the allies list in the turret screen
/turret trust <players>,/turret untrust <players>and/turret trusted- vanilla teams
- FTB Teams parties and allies.
- Open Parties and Claims parties and allied parties.
- Villager Recruits factions and allied factions (1.20.1). Turrets will not target your recruits.
Allies can also open and manage your turrets. Turn that off with alliesHavePerms.
Turrets
Turrets are crafted at the Turret Workbench.
Sniper guns double a turret's range.
The Brass turret is for the Create mod and requires rotational power. It fires slower at low rotation speeds and reaches its full fire rate at 64 RPM.
The Steel turret is for the Immersive Engineering mod.
The Basic, Advanced, Elite and Ultimate turrets are for the Mekanism mod.
Each turret uses the stats below. Fire rate stats are off by default and need fireRateStats. Turn on identicalTurrets to give them all the Modern turret's stats and recipe.
| Turret | Health | Armor | Range | Reload | Fire rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Scrap | 120 | 2 | 48 | 1x | 0.8x |
| Modern | 200 | 6 | 64 | 1x | 1x |

Sentry Turrets
Sentry turrets have no owner and are meant for structures. When one spawns, it rolls a loadout that picks its turret type, gun, laser, camo and ammo. Hostile sentries shoot players on sight, and neutral ones only shoot back.
- Only operators and creative players can open, pick up, paint or repair a sentry.
- Sentries don't need power and don't shoot players on Peaceful.
- A destroyed sentry drops a few of its turret's crafting materials, any ammo it had left, and sometimes its gun.
Sentry Turret Loadouts
Loadouts are datapack files in data/<namespace>/sentry_loadouts/. A sentry with no loadout, or one that doesn't exist, uses tacz_turrets:default:

{"type": "smg", "weight": 3},
{"type": "shotgun", "weight": 2},

"paints": [
{"banner": "black", "patterns": [{"pattern": "minecraft:skull", "color": "white"}]}
]
Sentry Turret Spawns
Spawn rules are datapack files in data/<namespace>/sentry_spawns/. A spawn rule places sentries in structures, on the surface, or in caves. Surface and cave spawns are off by default and can be turned on with the surfaceSentrySpawns and caveSentrySpawns configs.
{
"where": "structure",
"structures": ["minecraft:pillager_outpost"],
"loadout": "tacz_turrets:default",

- Server: How turrets and sentry turrets target, fight, use ammo and take damage, plus each turret type's stats. Each turret type can be set to need power with
requirePower. - Client: How turrets look on your screen, such as health bar style and color.
The entity tags tacz_turrets:turret_targets and tacz_turrets:turret_ignored can be used for what turrets will or will not target.
