Tanya's EchoDepth is a survival friendly cave mapping mod for Fabric. Craft a Resonance Shard and release an expanding sculk-powered pulse that briefly draws the shape of the cavern around you.

Exposed cave surfaces appear as bright cyan outlines surrounded by a soft purple glow. Water, lava, and nearby creatures create distinct coloured echoes, helping you understand the space without removing the mystery of underground exploration.

What does the scan reveal?

• Connected cave walls, floors, and ceilings within 20 blocks
• Water through blue echoes
• Lava through orange echoes
• Nearby creatures through pink echoes

EchoDepth is deliberately not an X-ray mod. The pulse follows connected open space, renders with normal depth testing, and never identifies ore blocks. Sealed caves and anything hidden behind solid walls remain hidden.

The resonance effect

The scan is not an instant overlay. It travels outward as a visible wave, tracing cave block edges with an enchanted cyan and purple outline. Each section glows briefly before smoothly fading back into darkness.

The effect is completely visual: EchoDepth does not place temporary light blocks, alter terrain, or leave anything behind in the world.

Crafting

This recipe produces one Resonance Shard with 64 uses.

Balanced for survival

• Only works underground, away from open sky
• Five-second cooldown between scans
• Consumes one durability point per successful scan
• Creates a real sculk vibration when activated

That vibration means the shard is useful in the Deep Dark but using it carelessly may alert the very things you were trying to find.

EchoDepth must be installed on both the client and server. It also works normally in single-player.
