Tiered portable storage for Paper

Carry more. Place it down. Upgrade it. Keep everything.

BackPack adds craftable, upgradeable bags that work like a mix between a shulker box and a real inventory. Right-click to open, place them in the world as chests, break them and your items stay inside — no drops lost, no empty bag.

Features

Five tiers

Multi-page GUIs (Tier 3+)

Navigation buttons and fillers cannot be taken or moved.

Open & place

• Look at the air → right-click → open the backpack inventory
• Look at a block (or sneak) → right-click → place as a chest
• Break the placed chest → the backpack item returns with all contents

Safety

• You cannot put a BackPack inside itself
• Contents are stored on the item (shulker-style persistence)
• Bundle appearance, but not vanilla bundle behavior — it will not open as a real bundle

Commands

Crafting

1. Tier 1 — Crafting table: chest in the center, 8 logs around
   (Oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry, pale oak, crimson, warped, and wood/hyphae variants)
2. Tier 2 — Tier 1 in the center + 8 iron ingots
3. Tier 3 — Tier 2 in the center + 8 gold ingots
4. Tier 4 — Tier 3 in the center + 8 diamonds
5. Tier 5 — Smithing table: Tier 4 + Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template + Netherite Ingot

Upgrades keep the same backpack identity and move existing items into the larger storage.

Requirements

• Paper (or a Paper-compatible fork) 1.21+ / 26.x
• Java 21+ on the server

Install: drop the jar into plugins/, restart the server, craft your first bag.

Notes

• Built for survival and economy servers that want portable storage without replacing shulker boxes.
• Placed backpacks use a chest block; breaking it always returns the backpack item with inventory intact.
• English UI and messages by default.
