Think you can survive when you never know when the light will change?

Traffic Light Challenge is a Minecraft Java Edition datapack that turns your world into a shared traffic-light survival challenge.

🚦 How it works

Everyone shares the same traffic light:

🟢 GREEN — Move freely!
🟡 YELLOW / ORANGE — Warning! You have 4 seconds to prepare.
🔴 RED — STOP! Any movement can get you killed.

The green phase has a random duration, so you never know exactly when the light will change.

During the red phase, any player who changes position is eliminated. Walking, sprinting, jumping, falling, knockback and other movement all count.

⏱️ Phases

• 🟢 Green: Randomly 20–90 seconds
• 🟡 Yellow / Orange: Exactly 4 seconds
• 🔴 Red: Randomly 5–20 seconds
• 🔄 The cycle repeats continuously

👥 Multiplayer

The challenge is designed for multiplayer.

The traffic light is global, meaning every player sees the same phase at the same time.

If one player moves during red, only that player is eliminated — everyone else can continue playing.

🌍 Works Everywhere

The datapack works across:

• Overworld
• Nether
• End

Changing dimensions does not reset the traffic light cycle.

📊 Bossbar

A bossbar shows the current traffic light state:

🟢 GREEN LIGHT — YOU CAN MOVE
🟡 YELLOW LIGHT — RED LIGHT IN 4 SECONDS!
🔴 RED LIGHT — DON'T MOVE!

The green phase intentionally has no countdown, keeping the next red phase a surprise.

📦 Installation

1. Download the datapack.
2. Put the .zip file into your world's datapacks folder.
3. Enter your world/server.
4. Run /reload.
5. The challenge starts automatically.

No mods, command blocks or additional setup are required.
