Vulkan Border Compatibility

See supported battle royale storm borders while using VulkanMod.

Vulkan Border Compatibility is a client-side Fabric addon for the custom storm shaders used by supported WestEvents / NAEvents resource packs. It adapts those shaders for VulkanMod and fixes a shader-cache issue that could cause server resource packs to fail when loading.

Requirements

• Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.11
• Fabric Loader 0.18.4 or newer
• VulkanMod 0.6.8+1.21.11
• Java 21 or newer
• The server's resource packs enabled

Installation

1. Close Minecraft.
2. Place the addon JAR in your Minecraft mods folder alongside VulkanMod.
3. Remove any older version of Vulkan Border Compatibility. Keep only one version installed.
4. Start Minecraft and join the server with its resource packs enabled.

Supported packs and limitations

Compatibility targets the supported Barrier storm shaders and the WestEvents / NAEvents packs inspected during development. Other packs, servers, and future pack updates may need additional changes. This addon does not provide general support for every Minecraft core shader.

The outside-zone warning recognises supported circular zone displays. It depends on those displays being loaded, and uses their geometry rather than the server's damage rules. Square zones are not currently supported by the warning. Border visibility and fading also depend on the resource pack.

Border visibility was confirmed in an earlier version. Version 0.6.1 fixes a reproduced resource-reload failure and passes compilation checks for 35 affected Minecraft shader configurations using the inspected server packs. Live-match visuals and the outside-zone warning still need verification with this release.
