Watchdog
Unintrusive protection. Your world is strongly protected but still maintains an unobstructed vanilla playing experience.
Most protection plugins ask you to trade vanilla gameplay for safety: claim tools, region wands, chunk markers, land-claim GUIs. Watchdog doesn't. It works silently in the background: place a chest and it's yours, tame a wolf and it's yours, no command run, no region drawn, nothing to learn. Players who never touch a protection command still get protected; griefers still hit a wall. The plugin only speaks up when it actually needs to: a denial message, or the optional interface if you want it.
Since perfect security is impossible anyway, Watchdog aims for 99% security and leaves out edge cases that would require deep modification of the game experience. Enough to prevent most griefing.
For even better protection, pair it with a rollback plugin. Watchdog stops most griefing before it happens, rollback undoes whatever slips through.
✨ Features
Automatic protection
- Blocks and entities are protected the instant they're placed, tamed, leashed, or bred. No player action required.
- Protections follow logically connected structures automatically: doors, beds, and other multi-block objects protect both halves together.
- Torches, item frames, and other blocks attached somewhere also protect the block they depend on.
- Growth is covered too: bonemealed trees, giant mushrooms, and melon/pumpkin stems protect their new blocks under the same owner
- Falling blocks (sand, gravel, concrete powder) keep their protection through the fall and re-apply it wherever they land
- Redstone signals from outside can be blocked from affecting a protected block (torches, pistons, doors, lamps, and more)
- Water and lava respect existing protections and extend when flowing.
Theft protection
- Hoppers, hopper minecarts, and other item-transfer mechanisms can't drain a protected container unless the initiator has access. Deposits are always allowed, only unauthorized withdrawal is blocked.
- Vehicles (minecarts, boats) can't be destroyed or stolen by non-owners.
Friends & sharing
- Add and remove players as friends to give them access to your blocks and entities.
- List your current friends.
Player controls
- Sneak + empty-hand right-click on anything you own or that is unprotected to open a simple protection interface.
- The interface allows toggling protection, redstone blocking, or item-transfer blocking per block/entity.
- Personal defaults for auto-protect, auto-block-redstone, and auto-block-item-transfer, so you decide how new builds get locked down.
Admin tools
- A wand (bedrock block) to instantly check who owns any block.
- Zone tools to mark a region and bulk override, fill, or clear protections across it. Perfect for cleaning up and solving disputes.
- A master-key permission lets admins bypass protections.
