πŸ›‘οΈ WGLocale

WGLocale is a modern multilingual localization and help layer for WorldGuard.

It replaces common WorldGuard denial messages with clean, configurable Adventure/MiniMessage output, supports per-player languages, and modernizes the old /wg and /rg help experience β€” without modifying WorldGuard internals or replacing its actual commands.

🌍 Multilingual WorldGuard

WGLocale can automatically use each player's Minecraft client language, allowing different players on the same server to receive WorldGuard messages in their own language.

Built-in languages:

  • πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ English
  • πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί Russian
  • πŸ‡°πŸ‡Ώ Kazakh
  • πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ Ukrainian
  • πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ German
  • πŸ‡«πŸ‡· French
  • πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ Spanish

Custom language files can also be added by server administrators.

English is always available as the final built-in fallback. If a selected language or translation key is unavailable, WGLocale safely falls back instead of breaking message output.

πŸ’¬ Modern WorldGuard Help

WorldGuard is powerful, but its default command help can be difficult to read.

WGLocale provides a cleaner, localized interface for:

/wg /worldguard /wg help /rg /region /rg help

The help interface is separated into useful sections such as Player, Regions, Flags, and Administration.

Sections and administrative commands are shown according to the player's permissions.

WGLocale only replaces the help presentation. Actual WorldGuard commands are still executed and permission-checked by WorldGuard itself.

Commands such as /wg reload, /rg define, /rg flag, /rg remove, and other WorldGuard functionality remain untouched.

🧭 Player Utilities

WGLocale also provides several lightweight utilities around WorldGuard.

Command Description
/wgl help Open the WGLocale help menu
/wgl language Show your currently resolved language
/wgl language list Show available languages
/wgl guide Open the WorldGuard guide
/wgl guide player Commands useful to regular players
/wgl guide regions Region creation and management
/wgl guide flags Region flags and examples
/wgl worldguard Open the modern WorldGuard help
/wgl here Show the WorldGuard regions at your current location

Aliases for the main command:

/wglocale Β· /wglang

English subcommand names always remain available even when another language is selected.

βš™οΈ Administration

Command Description
/wgl reload Reload WGLocale configuration and languages
/wgl status Show WGLocale, WorldGuard, language and runtime information
/wgl language set <code> Change the server language
/wgl language mode <server|player> Change language resolution mode
/wgl preview <action> Preview a translated protection message

πŸ” Permissions

WGLocale deliberately keeps its own permission system small.

Permission Default Description
wglocale.use Everyone Access player commands, language information and guides
wglocale.admin OP Access WGLocale administration commands

WorldGuard commands continue to use WorldGuard's own permissions.

WGLocale does not grant, bypass or emulate WorldGuard administrative access.

🎨 Message Formatting

Messages use Adventure + MiniMessage, making it possible to configure modern formatting such as:

  • gradients
  • hover text
  • clickable elements
  • custom prefixes
  • Action Bar output
  • chat output

Server owners can change the visual style without editing the plugin source.

πŸ”„ Language Resolution

WGLocale supports two language modes.

Player mode automatically detects the Minecraft client locale of each player.

For example, the same server can simultaneously display Russian messages to one player, Kazakh messages to another, and English messages to another.

Server mode uses one configured language for everyone.

Missing translations fall back through the configured fallback locale and finally to English.

🧩 Custom Languages

Language files are stored in:

plugins/WGLocale/languages/

Server owners can modify existing translations or add their own locale files.

When WGLocale is updated, existing customized language files are not blindly overwritten. New built-in translation keys can be supplied at runtime while preserving administrator changes.
