XpBottle
A lightweight, high-performance Paper plugin designed for precise experience storage. Unlike traditional experience bottle solutions that operate on player levels, XpBottle calculates and transfers exact experience points based on official Minecraft mechanics.
Key Features
- Exact Point Precision: Operates strictly on total accumulated experience points rather than player levels, ensuring mathematically accurate transfers without lost points across non-linear scaling.
- Persistent Item Data: Stores experience amounts directly within item NBT via Paper's PersistentDataContainer API.
- In-Game Commands: Quick conversion using
/bottle <amount>with built-in tab completion. - Intuitive Interaction: Shift-right-click with an empty glass bottle to drain experience, or right-click a custom bottle to reclaim stored experience.
- Optimized for Modern Servers: Built using Java 21 and the modern Adventure API for clean UI integration.
Mechanics
1. Manual Interaction
- Bottling: Shift-right-clicking with an empty glass bottle deducts a set amount of experience points (up to 100 points) and provides a stored XP item.
- Redeeming: Right-clicking a stored XP bottle instantly refunds the stored points back to your player profile and returns an empty glass bottle.
2. Command Usage
Players can specify an exact amount of experience points to condense into a bottle, provided they have at least one empty glass bottle in their inventory.
- Command:
/bottle <amount> - Permission:
xpbottle.use
Mathematical Calculation
Minecraft experience requirements scale non-linearly across level thresholds:
- Levels 0-16: Total XP = $\text{level}^2 + 6 \times \text{level}$
- Levels 17-31: Total XP = $2.5 \times \text{level}^2 - 40.5 \times \text{level} + 360$
- Levels 32+: Total XP = $4.5 \times \text{level}^2 - 162.5 \times \text{level} + 2220$
XpBottle evaluates total experience points and recalculates player progress bar percentages dynamically upon each transaction, guaranteeing zero experience decay.
