https://modrinth.com/plugin/zeroinvite

Step 2 โ€” Check Requirements

  • Server Software: Paper or Spigot
  • Minecraft Version: 1.21.x
  • Java Version: Java 21+
  • PlaceholderAPI: Optional integration (verify against your installed build)

Step 3 โ€” Install the Plugin

  1. Stop your Minecraft server.
  2. Open your server's plugins folder.
  3. Upload the downloaded ZeroInvite .jar file.
  4. Install PlaceholderAPI if you want to use its placeholders.
  5. Start your server.

Example directory:

Minecraft Server/
โ”œโ”€โ”€ plugins/
โ”‚ โ”œโ”€โ”€ ZeroInvite-1.0.0.jar
โ”‚ โ””โ”€โ”€ PlaceholderAPI.jar
โ”œโ”€โ”€ server.properties
โ””โ”€โ”€ ...

Step 4 โ€” Verify Installation

Join your server with operator permissions.

Execute:

/zi help

If ZeroInvite is installed successfully, the administrator commands should be available.

You can now configure the referral system!

โš™๏ธ First-Time Server Setup

ZeroInvite includes a setup wizard to help administrators configure the plugin without manually editing configuration files.

Step 1 โ€” Open Setup Wizard

Join your Minecraft server as an operator.

Run:

/zi setup

The setup wizard will guide you through the initial configuration.

Step 2 โ€” Configure Player Onboarding

Choose how new players interact with the referral system.

REQUIRED

New players must complete referral onboarding before accessing normal gameplay, according to the configured restrictions.

OPTIONAL

Players are offered referral onboarding but can skip it using the available skip option.

DISABLED

Automatic onboarding is disabled. Players can still use supported referral commands manually.

Recommended: Use OPTIONAL for casual survival servers and REQUIRED for referral-focused communities.

Step 3 โ€” Configure Verification Time

Set how long an invited player must play before their referral becomes verified.

Example:

Verification Time: 30 Minutes

Referral process:

Friend Joins โ†’ Redeems Code โ†’ Pending โ†’ Plays 30 Minutes โ†’ Verified

Once verified, eligible credits and rewards can be distributed.

Step 4 โ€” Configure Referral Protection

Review the available security options:

  • Self-referral prevention
  • Duplicate redemption protection
  • Referral eligibility requirements
  • Redemption time window
  • Same-IP protection

Same-IP protection modes can include:

BLOCK โ€” Reject referrals from the same IP.

WARN โ€” Flag a possible same-IP referral.

ALLOW โ€” Allow the referral.

Choose settings appropriate for your server and community.

Step 5 โ€” Configure Referral Rewards

Open the reward manager:

/zi rewards

ZeroInvite supports three main reward categories.

1. Per-Referral Rewards

Give a reward whenever an eligible referral becomes verified.

Example:

1 Verified Referral = 100 Invite Credits

You can configure item kits, console commands, or both.

2. Milestone Rewards

Reward players for reaching specific lifetime referral counts.

Example:

  • 1 Verified Invite โ†’ Starter Kit
  • 5 Verified Invites โ†’ Diamond Kit
  • 10 Verified Invites โ†’ VIP Reward
  • 25 Verified Invites โ†’ Legendary Reward

These are example rewards. Configure your own requirements and contents.

3. Repeatable Rewards

Allow players to spend earned invite credits on rewards multiple times.

Example:

  • 100 Credits โ†’ Iron Kit
  • 250 Credits โ†’ Diamond Kit
  • 500 Credits โ†’ Custom Reward

Spending invite credits does not reduce lifetime verified referral statistics.

Step 6 โ€” Configure Custom Reward Items

Use the reward editor to configure a custom item kit.

  1. Open /zi rewards.
  2. Select the appropriate reward management option.
  3. Create or edit a reward.
  4. Set its name and requirement.
  5. Select the supported reward type.
  6. Add the desired items through the kit editor.
  7. Save the reward.

Reward configurations can include custom items and console commands.

Step 7 โ€” Save Your Configuration

Complete the setup wizard and save your settings.

Need to leave before finishing?

Use Save Draft & Exit where available.

Closing the editor with ESC also preserves the current setup draft.

Saved drafts are stored in:

plugins/ZeroInvite/setup-drafts.yml

Run /zi setup again to resume your unfinished configuration.

Step 8 โ€” Test Your Referral System

Before opening your server to the public:

  1. Join with a test player account.
  2. Run /invite code to view its invite code.
  3. Join with another eligible test account.
  4. Redeem the first account's code.
  5. Confirm that the referral is marked Pending.
  6. Complete the configured verification time.
  7. Check whether the referral becomes Verified.
  8. Verify that the configured rewards and credits are delivered.

โœ… Setup Complete! Your ZeroInvite referral system is ready.

๐ŸŽฎ Player Guide โ€” How to Use ZeroInvite

ZeroInvite is designed to be simple for regular Minecraft players.

Step 1 โ€” Get Your Invite Code

Run:

/invite code

Every player receives a permanent invite code.

Step 2 โ€” Share Your Code

Send your invite code or Minecraft username to a friend.

Your friend must join the server and complete the referral redemption process.

Step 3 โ€” Redeem an Invite

A new eligible player runs:

/invite redeem <code|player>

Example:

/invite redeem Steve

Replace Steve with the referring player's actual username, or enter their invite code.

Step 4 โ€” Complete Verification

The referral initially appears as Pending.

The invited player must meet the configured verification playtime.

After successful validation, the referral becomes Verified.

Step 5 โ€” Receive Rewards

The inviter receives eligible credits and rewards according to the server configuration.

Step 6 โ€” Open Player Menu

Run:

/invite

The player GUI provides access to:

  • Invite Code
  • Referral Statistics
  • Invite Credits
  • Available Rewards
  • Lifetime Leaderboard
  • Referral History

Players can also redeem available repeatable rewards using their earned credits.

๐ŸŽ Advanced Reward System

Supported reward content includes:

  • Custom item kits
  • Console commands
  • Combined item and command rewards

Milestone Rewards

โ“ Troubleshooting

ZeroInvite Commands Are Not Working

  • Confirm the plugin JAR is in the correct folder.
  • Check the server startup logs.
  • Verify your Minecraft and Java versions.
  • Ensure the plugin loaded successfully.

Players Cannot Redeem Invite Codes

Check:

  • Whether the player is eligible
  • Whether the code or username is valid
  • Whether the player already redeemed a referral
  • Whether the redemption window has expired
  • Whether anti-abuse protection is blocking the referral

Referrals Are Not Becoming Verified

Check the configured verification duration.

Ensure the invited player has completed the required playtime and satisfies the referral validation rules.

Rewards Are Not Being Delivered

Check the reward configuration, verification status, and any console commands used for reward delivery.
